Uthabiti Sacco Society Ltd was founded in 14th June 2014 as Savings and credit cooperative Operates Back Office Service Activity Has 300 registered members Has 9 board Members and 3 supervisory members Registered office Deliverance Church Kahawa Sukari Has different loan products ranging from school fees, development, emergency loans Holds AGM every year Regulated by ministry of cooperative development (Ruiru sub county cooperative officer)

There are two unique factors for which I celebrate Uthabiti Sacco. Firstly we have a responsible leadership. We have a rare mix of higher education, corporate experience, grass root connection and Christian faith foundation. We have seen many organisations where funds have been embezzled and many innocent members have suffered. The picture we get in Uthabiti Sacco is that our money is safe. We have a role to support our leaders by providing honest suggestions on how to improve the Sacco business.
I am happy to have been associated with Uthabiti SACCO since its inception several years ago. When the idea of starting a SACCO in church was muted, I happened to be in that meeting at Prof. Gitongas house where men had been invited by Prof. to enjoy goat limbs as we exchanged parenting views and other life matters. In that meeting the men’s vision was to create a SACCO that would be a vehicle of financially empowering our young people. A number of us, led by men like Bonaventure, Mungai Thumbi and others, picked up the idea and ran away with it. The rest is history.
I am a founder member of uthabiti sacco. Uthabiti Sacco being a church organisation, the officials can be reached easily whenever one needs a quick loan and also is easy to get the guarantors. Iam a beneficiary of uthabiti sacco.
